The Inspiring Journey of Dr. Wahid and Dr. Laila Wahba: Life’s journey often takes unexpected turns, shaping our destinies in ways we never imagined. For Dr. Wahid Wahba and Dr. Laila Wahba, their path led from successful medical careers to full-time ministry, impacting countless lives across the Middle East and beyond. Their story is a testament to faith, obedience, and the power of transformation.

A Call Beyond the Clinic
Dr. Wahid Wahba began his professional journey as a dentist in Cairo, Egypt. Though he was skilled in his craft, he felt a deeper calling—one that transcended the boundaries of medicine. In 1990, he made the courageous decision to leave his thriving dental practice to pursue full-time Christian ministry. His heart was burdened with a desire to invest in the lives of others, equipping them with biblical knowledge and leadership skills.
Driven by this calling, Dr. Wahba established the Middle East Leadership Training Institute (MELTI) in 2000. Over the past 25 years, MELTI has reached more than one million individuals across the Middle East, equipping them with essential discipleship and leadership training. His extensive ministry work includes leading fundraising efforts for the Bible Society of Egypt and overseeing operations for organizations such as Walk Thru the Bible, Purpose Driven, and Haggai Institute. As International Operations Director for Walk Thru the Bible, Dr. Wahba expanded his reach even further, touching lives across various regions.
Strengthening the Persecuted Church
In 2018, as the refugee crisis escalated, Dr. Wahba was compelled to take action. He launched 4G3, a transformative initiative designed to strengthen displaced and persecuted Christians throughout the Middle East. Through a structured 15-month, 70-hour curriculum, 4G3 provides biblical, theological, and discipleship training. By partnering with organizations producing high-quality biblical content, 4G3 ensures that church leaders and small groups receive vital support, even in the face of persecution.
Dr. Wahba’s philosophy of leadership training is deeply rooted in long-term investment. He believes in equipping individuals who, in turn, become catalysts for change within their families, churches, and communities. His vision is not just to teach but to transform lives for the glory of God.
From Pediatrics to Protection: Dr. Laila Wahba’s Mission
Dr. Laila Risgallah Wahba, an Egyptian Christian with a passion for serving others, also began her career in medicine. Holding a master’s degree in pediatrics and a Ph.D. in childhood studies, she devoted her early years to caring for children. However, God had a different plan for her life—one that extended beyond medical practice.
Recognizing the critical issue of sexual abuse, Dr. Laila dedicated herself to advocacy and prevention. She firmly believes that “prevention is better than cure” and emphasizes that victims should never bear guilt for the abuse they suffer. In response, she founded the non-profit organization Not Guilty, which works to combat the sexual abuse of children, teens, and adults.
Beyond her advocacy, Dr. Laila plays a vital role as the administrator and communications officer at For the Global Glory of God. She also spearheads a Christian youth TV show that tackles pressing topics such as dating boundaries, abstinence, and the dangers of pornography. Her show has reached millions of Arabic-speaking viewers across the Middle East, North Africa, the USA, and Canada, providing young people with biblical guidance on critical life issues.
A Marriage Built on Mission
For nearly four decades, Wahid and Laila have walked side by side in faith and ministry. Their union is built on a shared commitment to serving God and transforming lives. Together, they have raised two sons and continue to see their family grow while residing in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Their journey from medicine to ministry showcases the beauty of surrendering to God’s calling. While they could have continued their successful medical careers, their willingness to follow God’s direction has allowed them to impact millions. Their story is an inspiring reminder that true fulfillment comes not from personal success but from serving others and advancing God’s kingdom.
Dr. Wahid and Dr. Laila Wahba’s lives are a powerful testament to the impact one can make when they choose faith over comfort. From the clinics of Cairo to global ministry leadership, they have dedicated themselves to equipping believers, strengthening the persecuted church, and protecting the vulnerable. Their legacy continues to inspire countless individuals to step out in faith and pursue God’s greater purpose for their lives.
