Second Day of Iraq Conference

Losing everything was worth it because we found Jesus

Today, Wahid and I taught about the role of the wife as a helper and the differences between men and women.

During lunch, we sat with a family; a father, a mother, and five children aged between 7 and 16. They told us how they were all kidnapped by ISIS for three days. They miraculously fled to Erbil, Iraq, from Syria. In Erbil, they all met Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.

They are all thankful for all that happened to them. "If we had not fled, we would not have met Jesus. We lost everything but gained Jesus. It was all worth it," exclaimed the sixteen-year-old daughter.

Their faith put us to shame.

It reminded us of Paul when he said in Philippians 3.7,8

' But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ."

That girl's dream is to become a doctor. Wahid and I prayed for her dream to come true.

More tomorrow.

Laila Wahba

For the girl's dream to become a doctor to come true.

For all of us reading this to appreciate what we have in Jesus.
